I just typed the german word "Trottel" into www.dict.cc and I got:

So wtf is the matter with you english guys...?! 
I just want to abuse you, and even for the word "abuse" I would find about 10 possibilities...

Spasti = Spaz
Esel = Donkey (eher als Tier nicht als Schimpfwort - used just for the animal, or is this abusive too?) Ich weiß nicht... in Sachsen verwenden wir diese Worte weitestgehend synonym. Warum sollte es im Rest der Republik ander sein?

Well there are many insults in both languages and many of them have the same or similiar meanings. The problem in translating these insults is that there is never a completely fitting correspondation. (you find that in other wordareas too, but none is as far-stretching and various as insults)
Therefore any dictionary will give you a handful of similiar insults of the other language for one insult of your own language.

Depp = Fool
'Fool' is most commonly translated as 'Narr' or even 'Tor', for its a rather old and obsolete word. If you'd try to translate 'Depp', however, 'fool' could be appropriate. In most cases words like 'moron' would be more fitting, though.

What you meant was probably 'thickhead' (I myself have never heard a word like that in English). 'Dickhead'/"Schwanzkopf" is imo not a good translation for 'idiot'. umm. what's the point of this thread Admin/mod comment
