Mami Tomoe: It is really weird it does that. I see no magic stuff going on for other functions where this used when I look at the code. I suggest you consult EngiN33R. Mami Tomoe: Check his Discord, mate. 
menu has no hint supports UTF-8, unlike print which has.So it's most likely not possible. Only DC can tell.
