@user Mora: There. That's how it looks like in the "classic" mod folder.IMG:https://i.hizliresim.com/qWdVYd.jpg

Do you even know what am I talking about? See the mods/classic folder, please. And get the game run with it. You'll be able to see subsequently.

Do we really need to keep the old hud though?
We do. I've seen a lot of people around here who still keep playing with the old ones.

One thing that still bothers me, are these black lines between the tiles. Is there any way to fix this (except turning the "3D" thingy off)?

@user SmD: Does that artifact appear on all resolutions? Including 850*480?
Or does this reproduce only in very high resolution?

@user SQ: Oh yeah, for some reason this doesn't appear in 1366x768. I haven't tried out all resolutions yet.

I was using 1920x1080

You said you can reproduce it on any resolution higher than 850*480. I don't have 1080p screen at the moment, but I don't see the problem with other resolutions.

@user VADemon: No, it's float precision error due to 3D transformation I suppose. I really can say that I know better. Totally unrelated things here.

old Thanks for this "update"

This update puts a breath of fresh air in CS2D. The new features are amazing. Thanks! There is a problem with voice chat: there is a message that I have to install OpenAL and sometimes voice chat works.

Voting:
@user Hajt: It's intended that you can vote the current map again. This is in case you want to trigger a map restart for whatever reason. Power to the people!

What do you mean with voting the same map twice? You only have one vote anyway. Or are you talking about blocking recently voted maps? I don't want to add such a complex logic there. I would probably rather add return-possibility to the vote-hook so you can implement custom logic there.

Scoreboard:
@user Promaster: Dead players are still visible but it's very hard to read the OWN player when he's dead because of the additional highlight. Will tweak that.

It's beneficial to have two columns even if there is just one team. This way more players fit on the board without scaling.

Spectator stuff is based on CS:S scoreboard. Spectators are not as important as players therefore that small list is sufficient. We all just have to get used to this change. I know it's hard to accept changes...

Map before server name is also inspired by the CS:S scoreboard. I don't see a reason to change that.

FPS related stuff:
@user VADemon: cs2d lua cmd timer resolution was and still is only limited by FPS. So yes, timers have a slightly higher precision now.

@user MikuAuahDark: Having a setting for the update rate of cs2d lua cmd timer and cs2d lua hook always makes things more inconsistent and complicated. You would always have to take care that you're using the right setting.
> cs2d lua hook always always will just stay at the 20 ms rate for consistency
> The internal update rate of cs2d lua cmd timer is rather irrelevant anyway

Btw: I was against changing the FPS to 60 because I think that this makes things weird. It most likely also introduces new bugs and it the changed behavior of cs2d lua hook always might also lead to problems as it is not executed every frame anymore (and therefore not "alyways" anymore). This however shouldn't make a difference for most scripts.

Pretty nice so far.

Quite disappointed to not see any server command for controlling the voice chat system.

By the way, how's the game doing on lower end systems ? And the GUI ? It used to be a considerable resource hog on my older machines (especially when there were lots of texts, eg.: serverlist) and this bigger use of anti-aliasing is scaring me.

@user Ishara: Oops I wasn't even aware of this requirement. I guess this needs to be checked (license stuff and size).

@user _Yank: There is sv_voicechat it's even on the main server settings menu.

I can't say much about performance. I don't have a system which is so slow that CS2D doesn't reach max FPS and I didn't do performance tests lately. I only know that user SQ optimized some things. So I think overall performance shouldn't be much worse. Only thing is higher res UI graphics which are scaled down. This might have an impact on really mega super old and horribly bad hardware (even then I doubt it) but you can switch to classic skin in that case or use other custom lower res skins.

I came across a new bug.

When I start a server and activate recoil influences accuracy while the server is running, you can suddently fire weapons faster but accuracy isn´t changing.

Overall I´m excited for this new update. Great improvements although I am sceptical with the always hook not being in sync with the frames.

Bomb planting animation and sound
It's only a minor detail, but I like it.

Voice chat
Are you planning to add anything like voicechat lua hook? With return options to make player silent in certain situations. Like:
return 0 - everyone can hear the message that has just been received
return 1 - voice chat message is not broadcasted to anyone
return 2 - broadcast to team members only
return (-32, -1) - player with certain ID will hear this player's message.
Would it be laggy or complicated to implement? Or is it even possible?

Bonus: life cycle of each CS2D version: >
