Farcry 3 is also free on Uplay. However, for some reason it's only available on the Chinese store , and you'll need to claim it from mobile. You can access the mobile site from your desktop by pressing ctrl + shift + i on Chrome or ctrl + shift + m on Firefox.

I needed to do this:
Follow your link to chinese version of the site
Login
On the store page, change user agent
Make your browser window small enough so it changes to mobile view (this is what you did with ctrl+shift+m too)
Click on the big button to get the game
It must instantly appear in your client. If you try to click the blue button on the right in the pop-up, your uplay client MUST ASK YOU FOR INSTALLATION! If it asks you to enter a game key - YOU DIDN'T RECEIVE THE GIVEAWAY.
The page will always tell you "you activated the game" even if it didn't activate the game. Please check it appeared in your library as "Far Cry® 3"
