you should probably make the mine ambient noise different. i cant think of a whole lot of species of bird that fly into underground mines and then start singing
something creepy and echo-y with the occasional sound of dripping water, maybe
Already working on that, the unit underground will most likely be a large spider with the ability to tear you to shreds, his spawn points will be a large webbed area... Underground it'll be very spooky music, and you'll often hear water dripping in certain locations near underground water.
I'm also working on animals for Alienation which is supposed to be the biggest mod stranded 2 has ever seen.
Here's a screenshot of the most recent animal for alienation...
So, I'm actually working two projects... and I'm right now alotting more time to alienation then to Lion_hearted, the release date for the alpha is hopefully toward the end of this month.
cant wait this is going to be kickass on a while new scale, if this and Massive Mod cant merge ill prolly jsut junk MM and use this. 5/5 bud keep us posted.
Couple of things I noticed (love the mod btw), shouldn't animals that have fat, have more fat than meat? I always have way more meat than fat to cook with and spit cooking is annoying. On a similar note can you add fish cooking on the pan, and salting to fish as well, kinda kills fishing for food when hunting has the best cooking advantages.
First of all, I didn't really understand the "fat" issue, if you look at the wheight, you'll find that fat is dramatically less then meat in a weight measurment. And 2, you don't use 500 grams of fat when you fry and egg, or even a piece of meat.
So, unless I understood you wrong, I think you just misunderstood how heavy fat actually was.
Fat is also associated to animals, deer have very little fat as in real life, they are actually quite lean, birds have practically no fat, turtles I can't imagine having much fat neither can I see monkeys having much fat. Lions maybe a little more, but not much.
If you want fat, sharks have lots of fat, real life, and in the game.
And yes, I'll try to remember to add fish cooking to the pan and salting...
I meant that in game you end up with lots more small meats than fats to cook them with so you either have to toss out the extra when it rots, or cook the extra meats with a spit (which I just find annoying because of all the steps).
Perhaps in the future I'll make it so you'll be able to raise pigs and cows for food, however that would raise significant problems with the realism issue.
Right now, I'd suggest hunting sharks, or learning how to script and editing the code for your own purposes.
I usually hunt lions (more food then anything else) and raptors, so I rarely have food or fat problems.

On fat - animal fat is by far not as scares in deer or any other grass greasers (sheep would have quite a bit). and lions (or any other land predator for that matter) would have very very little of it. Would be kinda nice to be able to make lard or tallow. Or make some sort of veggie oil, maybe cottonseed oil since the plant is already in the game. But if you'll feel so inclined - olive trees or sunflowers would be even better addition, but that would need new models
Perhaps the fat will increase with the addition of new units, however, I doubt the standing units will change much... I will however look into likely fat vs meat ratios.
The new unit will most probably be a wild hog or something smiler, and you would get alot of fat off of it. However, this unit is not going to be in the next release.
Oh yes, and I forgot to mention that I almost never attend fruit, and my name on cs2d is Lone Wolf...
You'll find me many times on construction prizes...
