1 problem! i dont understand how to use lua! all i know is a couple of commands like /equip /setpos /setmaxhealth /setarmor /setmoney and /spawnplayer! thats all i know all rest i dont understand how to use scripts or hook things or something like that!

Me too don't know how to script. I know only what i see, then I edit it to make it works for my needs. I never could write the script from the begging.

I havent followed this thread from the beginning, but I just wanna say a detailed briefing isn't always the best, since some people only read short briefings and not the longest ones. Of course this isn't the case for all types of maps, but for simple maps you'd better keep it short.

you dont need to script the lua,just make something like this in editor:
1.trigger_start
2.i think its env_message (it has message)

place start's triger to msg
place message's message and name to msg

thats it....you can see on my maps, it says Made by Cortez

It sucks that most people play contruction mode, but dont understand how to play. From 20 players in a team 10 are standing in the base and shoot each others buildings down, the rest who attacks, doesnt even work a little bit in a team. For example I built a turret directly at the front, to defeat coming enmeies. It was fucking dangerous to upgrade it because it was about 2 screens away from the enemies spawn base. Upgrading alone takes much time, and if the building gets just a little damage, upgrade is interrupted. 3 players where beside me, but instead of helping me to upgrade my turret they just ran into the front, causing my enemies to shoot onto them(of course those boons died...) and let the bullets fly into my turret!
THAT SUCKS!!


It's not CON mode that sucks. It's your team. Try communicating more, or going on a USGN only server(therefore all the n00bs are kept out).

Anyway, back on topic. Erm...I have no answer i just wanted to answer that post :D.

Ever tried communicating in a construction server? I have. Conclusion: very close to impossible -_-.

Furthermore, when you go to a 'USGN users only' construction server, there are no players or so little that it isn't really fun anymore (but maybe you think it's fun, I dunno), since the fun thing about construction is the huge chaos (again my opinion :P)
