OK, here is the thing.

I have managed to download the CS2D dedicated server and have managed to set up my own game by myself, but I have an issue,

So I run the dedicated server than I open CS2D and I create new game and everything is working fine.
Then I will shut down that game.
I open the server list and low and behold "Server" is sitting right at the top with 0 Latency.
I think this would be my server just run by default because the CS2D dedicated server thing is still running.

So I entered the game but I have no control whatsoever.

So what I was wondering is when I create a new game at the beginning does that replace this default "Server" that stays there, and if it does/doesn't is there anyway for em to control that "Server".

THANKS for the help, sorry if it sound confusing, feel free to ask questions and I will try to Explain.

you do not need to start a game with CS2D when you started your dedicated server.
To control you need to go into the server.cfg and change the rcon password.

yah. open the help menu in cs2d an read:
• Dedicated Server
• RCon

rcon (remote control) is the only way to change your dedicated server after starting it. before starting it you can use the cfg-files to change the settings.

He means that the server does not completely shut down even after he physically closes down the frontend. Can you check if it is really your server and if it is, can you check if any cs2d_dedicated process is running in the process queue

I think you're actually trying to run a Dedicated Server and actually play at the same time as you run a Dedicated Server. This probably won't work. You should have a network setup.

Correct me if I'm wrong here.

So I cannot run the server and play on it at the same time?

I mean lets say this.

I open cs2d, there is no "server" with 0 latency
I open dedicated server and there is the "server" with 0 latency (my server correct)
I enter it and I have no administrative controls on "MY?" server

I want to fix that please try to explain to me

What does this mean : "Don't forget to chmod cs2d_dedicated (777)"

I mean basically all I want is for me to be able to set up a gamer with admin controls and be able to play with it AND have other players able to join it easily

nvm, just add sv_rcon password

go onto your server and use rcon_password password, rcon say blah blah

the chmod is only for linux, it's just giving the file permision to be executed.

Ok I'll give you my recommend. You should have a computer in your home/area 100% dedicated to a CS2D server and nothing else. If you don't have the capabilities for this, you should really rethink it because you're going to be trying to do many things at once in just one computer.

Now to admin your server you need to close down dedi, start new server & put in a rcon password. It's on the first screen. Put a rcon password and click Start then leave, start up your Dedi.

like lee said chmod is for Unix/Linux. I think the equivalent of this in Windows Vista is "Run as administrator"

Ok, I will.

I forgot about the sv_ commands

Do I need to have the dedicated server box open for the server to be online?

read the faq and the linked forum thread in the faq. you are doing it wrong if it doesn't work. the thread explains all sources of problems + solutions.
in nearly all cases people don't manage to setup their routers correctly. in some cases there are also firewalls which cause problems.
